Kilovolt KPG - Tests for 44 KVrms VLF cables
The portable cable tester KPG VLF is used for testing medium voltage cables according to IEC 60502-2, CENELEC HD 620 and 621, DIN VDE 0276/620 & 621 and IEEE 400. The test is carried out with a low deformation practice with VLF (very low frequency) test voltage of preferably 0.1 Hz. VLF tests allow to detect insulation damage within the shortest test time. The VLF KPG can test cables with extruded insulation (XLPE-, PE-, EPR-insulation) as well as cables with oil-paper insulation (PILC).
