OUR COMPANY
Erasmus SAS was founded in 1996, as a successor of Latin American Consultants Ltda, which originated in 1969. Since then, our company has been dedicated to the supply of products for the electrical sector and for the electrical areas of other economic sectors, particularly for those that intensively use electrical energy.
About Erasmus
The success of the electricity generation, transmission, and distribution chain—as well as that of large-scale industry—depends on the reliability, continuity, and accuracy of the electricity supply. Our products demonstrate the quality, efficiency, and safety that modern society expects from its energy supply.
Our product lineup includes a wide range of complementary product categories, always featuring top-tier brands with proven excellence and prestige. We originally focused on outdoor equipment for high-voltage substations. In this area, we offer Pfiffner instrument transformers; Hapam disconnect switches; Moser Glaser busbars; relays of various types and brands; synchrophasors from Arbiter; as well as equipment for monitoring transformers, circuit breakers, grounding systems, battery banks, pressure gauges, and other substation components. We also provide equipment for handling SF6 gas and regenerating transformer oil. We also offer SF6 gas of the highest possible purity and a service for the disposal of contaminated gas.
Core products in our lineup include measurement and testing equipment, as well as protection and communications equipment for installation, prevention, and maintenance. Of particular note is Omicron, the undisputed global leader in secondary and primary injection test kits, for general and selective instrumentation of substations and their components, specifically high-voltage systems.
Metrel equipment is an important addition, particularly for testing and commissioning medium- and low-voltage substations, as well as for industrial and residential electrical installations. We also offer reclosers, Tavrida, and test equipment for reclosers, such as the ARCO from Omicron. We carry meter testers and calibrators from the Calmet and Metertest brands.
Our products are also used to perform specialized tests: tests on cables ranging from low voltage to very high voltage; partial discharge tests on cables, transformers, and rotating machines; and corona effect tests.
Many of our products are used in a wide range of industrial sectors, including Bender monitors for isolated and grounded circuits, Stäubli Multi-Contact connectors, Krauss & Naimer selectors, and various multimeters and clamps.
We have a large team of electrical engineers—experts in their fields—who provide invaluable support at every stage of the equipment procurement process, beginning with familiarizing ourselves with and studying our products, and continuing with the analysis of alternatives based on our customers’ needs to help them make the best purchasing decision. Our consulting and after-sales service never end; we are always flexible and ready to assist with the commissioning and operation of our equipment to ensure maximum performance and durability.
A significant support to our commercial activity is our Repair and Calibration Laboratory. This laboratory is certified as Omicron Repair Center by the Klaus factory in Austria. The laboratory is staffed by highly trained engineers and technicians and equipped with reference instruments that are properly and continuously calibrated at world-class centers of excellence designated for this purpose. Traceability to primary standards is a key differentiator. Our calibration laboratory is certified by ONAC in accordance with the IEC 17025 standard, within this scope. (See Scope).
We established a teaching and training center, Erasmus Institute of Electric Powerwhere long-standing experts transmit their practical knowledge for testing and general understanding of the scientific development of electricity with solid theoretical foundations.
As a support to our customers, we have an equipment rental service, ElectroRent. This allows for the handling of potential emergency situations during testing or in the event of occasional shortages of the equipment needed to service or commission a substation or large-scale electrical facility.
Erasmus has direct presence through associated companies in Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela. It also serves the Caribbean, Central America and the Andean area.
