Application
Rec series automatic reclosers are designed for use on overhead lines of radial, ring and interconnected medium voltage distribution networks.
The fundamental function of automatic reclosers is to provide automatic reclosing cycles to eliminate transient faults and minimize network downtime. In addition to improving reliability and reducing the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI), System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) and Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI),
Rec series reclosers provide a wide range of integrated communication features and enhance the operator's visibility of the network.

- Sophisticated control and protection
Tavrida Electric's reclosers offer protection against various faults including: short circuits, ground faults, high impedance ground faults, broken wires, islanding, switchgear misoperation, network overload and over or under generation. The integrated RTU and meter ensure that the reclosers support the SCADA system without additional costs.
- TELARM® Dispatcher and Dual-SCADA
TELARM® Dispatcher is a unique remote monitoring and control system that operates as a stand-alone SCADA and/or in parallel with an existing SCADA system, acting as an auxiliary method for recloser control and monitoring. TELARM® Dispatcher offers several features that are not available with most conventional SCADA systems, such as remote access to system logs, fault and load profiles and remote control of protection settings.
- Optimal quality/price ratio
With a maintenance-free design that allows for 30,000 O-C operations, the costs generated by Tavrida Electric reclosers are always low throughout the lifetime of the equipment. They are installed on common overhead feeders, which significantly improves a network's key performance indicators and its utilization results in a rapid return on investment.
Cutting module for outdoor use
- Air-insulated switchgear module incorporates a Tavrida Electric vacuum interrupter with magnetic actuator per phase housed in a corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy tank. Six main circuit isolators made of UV-stable polymer and covered entirely with silicone rubber sleeves. Each isolator has integrated current and voltage sensors for protection, measurement and indication purposes.
- Cutting module equipped with six high-voltage isolators with integrated current and voltage sensors. Current sensing is done through Rogowski coil sensors. Capacitive sensors are used to measure the voltage on the six insulators.
- Tavrida Electric manufactures vacuum interrupters that combine small dimensions with long service life in mechanical and electrical aspects. The use of specifically designed axial magnetic field distribution offers even current density over the contact surface and thus significantly higher vacuum interrupting performance. Carefully selected contact material, specialized contact design and optimized shear achieve a rebound-free seal.
- Cutting module equipped with Tavrida Electric's innovative vacuum interrupter. Tavrida Electric has simplified the mechanical structure of the vacuum interrupter to the maximum. It uses three single-coil magnetic actuators, one per pole. All single-pole switching elements are mounted along a single axis. All mechanical movements are therefore direct and linear. The three actuators are installed in a steel frame and mechanically linked by a synchronizing rod.
- There is a mechanical actuation hook located at the bottom of the tank. The cutting module remains locked and cannot operate until the actuation hook is pushed back to the operating position.

- Protection
The recloser provides protection against overcurrent, earth leakage, over and under voltage, over and under frequency, current and voltage unbalance and many other problems.
- Measurements
The recloser can measure phase, neutral and sequence currents, phase-to-phase and sequence voltages, and three-phase active and reactive power and energy. Key measurement data can be recorded.
- Communications
The control cabinet has several communication interfaces and can be connected to any third-party modem via RS-232/RS-485 or Ethernet using various communication protocols, including Modbus, DNP3 and IEC-104.
- High-capacity battery
Rechargeable battery with 48-hour autonomy with intelligent battery charger and maintenance-free for up to 10 years.
- Monitoring
Extremely comprehensive and remotely accessible independent log files including load and fault profiles, events, faults, life and replacement messages.
- Control cabinet
The recloser control cabinet is powder-coated anodized aluminum.
The control panel has a 40-character, 6-line graphic LCD display that clearly indicates events.
- User software
Tavrida Electric Automated Relay Manager (TELARM) software is designed to meet the specific needs of electrical distribution networks. It allows:
- Download logs, profiles, oscillograms, settings, etc.
- Upload protection, communication and system settings
- Record logs (of events, faults, communications, etc.) and detailed fault profiles
- Customize a control signal map for a customer's SCADA applications.
